Origami is the ancient art of paper folding which has applications in the modern-day for understanding geometry, thinking skills, fractions, problem solving, and science.

Learning Outcomes
Students will learn how paper & cloth can be folded to make three-dimensional origami objects while exploring the use of form in art, creative thinking, and sensory and fine-motor development.
Origami excites many modes of learning and has been shown to improve three-dimensional visualization skills using hands-on learning. Such skills allow to comprehend, characterize, and construct one’s own three dimensional visual language created through paper and cloth.
Fabric origami offers crafters an opportunity to make artistic objects out of fabric. People can choose from a variety of fabrics for origami projects. Fabric folding designs include animals and objects as well as quilting and clothing designs. Adults and children can learn this versatile form of origami.
Students will learn about:
- Basic shapes of origami
- Origami flower and insects/butterfly
- Origami geometric shapes
- Origami animals
- Creativity and experimentation for unique origami designs
- Creating a final student-driven origami piece

- Two-sided coloured papers
